Tomcat

Feral Cats

Recommended Posts

We have an igloo for the feral cats and have 2 food bowls in there. Right at the end of last summer there where 5 kittens and the momma cat. Then it got cold and we had that blizzard and then normal temps. The momma was limping during the winter. She couldn't use her back leg.
A week ago I spotted her going to the igloo for food and she was not limping at all. Yeah!  I wonder what happened. She jumped on the fence and headed over to the igloo.
I haven't seen any of the kittens until last Wednesday. I saw 3  of them. They were also going with the momma to eat. They did hang out in my backyard for a bit and one cat jumped in my neighbors trees. I guess hunting for birds.
So, at least 3 of the kittens survived the winter and so did momma. They all look good.

The weather been nice. I haven't seen them in a day or 2. The food is still there.

I saw 2 of the kitties last night eating in the igloo. I did put some nice cold water out for them too. They got to be thirsty with all this hot weather. They made it through our blizzard last year and just another day of hot weather before a cool down. They will make it.

Cooler weather is coming. They will probably need a bit more food.

I feel bad for feral cats when the weather gets cold.

We have on cat who has been sleeping in our igloo. I haven't seen the others since the summer.

We still feed 2 new ones. What do that eat on warm days. They don't seem to show up when it's warm.
